I could dance all night! Dancing, more than singing is my secret passion. Whenever there is a chance to hit the dance floor, I will be the first to get the party started.
I gamely pulled some guests to dance at the extremely successful launch of The Estate, an ultra-luxurious residential tower along Ayala Avenue. Touted as the tallest and most expensive residential property, the 54-storey tower is a project of ST 6747 Resources Corp., a 50-50 joint venture firm by SM Prime and Federal Land.
Historically, the late tycoons Henry Sy Sr. and George Ty jointly worked together on their first real estate project nearly 40 years ago with The Ritz, an upscale residential property in Makati City. As destiny would have it, their sons Henry Sy Jr., chairman of SM Prime, and Alfred Ty, chairman of Federal Land, are continuing on the legacy of their fathers with this groundbreaking project along the same avenue!
After the formal speeches and dinner held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, members of the West End production of Let It Be: A Celebration of the Music of The Beatles performed an exclusive medley of songs by the Fab Four. I got the dancing started as we immensely enjoyed The Beatles hit songs.
At the same venue a week later, we were all dancing again at the 60th birthday bash of CATS Motors head honcho Felix Ang. It was a joint celebration of Felix and his company CATS (Cars, Accessories, Tires and Services) Motors, Inc. on its 30th anniversary. CATS Motors provides world-class and luxury automobile ownership experience carrying prestigious brand names such as Mercedes-Benz, Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep.
Despite his many successes, Felix never fails to pay it forward. He is a supporter of charitable institutions such as Habitat for Humanity, Gawad Kalinga, and GoNegosyo. As one of the Ninongs of our 25th wedding anniversary, Felix and his beautiful wife Grace also supported our charities as well as Red Charity Gala. They celebrate their Silver wedding anniversary this year as well.
The Godfather themed party had several vintage car showcases where guests took photos. Event stylist Barbie Pardo-Tiangco conceived the unique concept and setup. The CatsFather party was more festive thanks to all the décor, party favors and photo booths.
After his heartfelt speech, Felix was surprised with a wonderful video greeting of family and close friends. Felix joked that he will retire from baby-making after celebrating the first birthday party of his youngest daughter Lexi.
We got the dancing started soon after high-energy Gary Valenciano hit the stage! Like a mini concert, the incredible Gary V. entertained us all. Soon after, everyone had eyes on businessman Tonyboy Cojuangco who played guitar together with band. Fresh from visiting their daughter Dominique Cojuangco in San Francisco, beautiful actress Gretchen Barretto was also at the party to greet Felix.
Another event that ended up in the dance floor was the after party of the FILA 2020 Spring Summer Fashion Show. For the second straight year, CEO and owner of FILA Philippines, Cris Albert, invited her team and special friends to Milan Fashion Week last month to attend the awesome FILA SS 2020 show held at MegaWatt Court, located at Via Watt, 15 Milan together with Teams from FILA Japan, FILA Korea, FILA Germany, global celebrities, stylists and models.
Led by creative directors Antonino Ingrasciotta and Joseph Graesel, who joined FILA last year, the sportswear brand is leading the 90’s sportswear lifestyle look and proudly presented its SS20 collection at the MFW. The much talked about runway show featured sailing jackets, fanny packs and those sock-style boots. This new collection has a strong soul, born from natural elements such as water, wind and sand.
At the Fila Gala Dinner at Museo Diocesano Corso di Porta Ticinese, Cris received a warm welcome from FILA International Chairman Gene Yoon. Team FILA Philippines also met with influential designers, Korean celebrities and the FILA Germany crew.
Cris looked gorgeous in an elegant Puey Quiñones dress and her sister Ana Abad Santos, celebrity actress and VP for Advertising at FILA Philippines wore young designer Daryl Maat. Others with the group included Anton San Diego, Tim Yap and Javi Martinez. Most of the collection will be available at FILA.com.ph soon.
Dance is truly an expression of life. For me, Flamenco is the most expressive. I will cheer on my friends Gia Ramos and Bon Soler on stage as they perform at La Luna Roja, an upcoming production of Fundación Centro Flamenco.
Original story and libretto by Emma Estrada, “La Luna Roja” is the Philippines’ first original full-length flamenco ballet and is directed by Leo Rialp. With performances by the students of Centro Flamenco, professional flamenco artists are flying in direct from Spain. Javier Martos brings his elegance and passion in his lead role of Jamil. Sergio Gomez, “El Colorao,” a singer from a long family line of flamenco singers, will provide the distinct song. They are joined by Rubén Campos on guitar and Jose Cortes, “El Indio,”on percussion. Thus, La Luna Roja, brings together all elements of flamenco onto the stage with live flamenco cante (song), toque (guitar), cajón (percussion) and baile (dance).
You can catch “La Luna Roja” on November 23 (8pm) and 24 (3pm) at the Carlos P. Romulo Theater at the RCBC, Ayala Avenue, Makati. For tickets please call: (0917)675-6192 or centroflamencophil.com La Luna is produced by Fundacion Centro Flamenco with partners FreyFil Corp., Mac Cosmetics and Turkish Airlines. Tickets available at Ticketworld outlets.
