Do anything for LOVE!

Chinese New Year was just last week and already it is time to move to Valentine’s Day preparations. Fortuitously, the color theme remains red. In this season of love, Valentine’s concerts, special gifts and dining packages are being offered to spark lots of romance.

For those just starting their relationship, I would suggest “Miss Dior,” the newest perfume of Dior Parfums. It has a vibrant and sensual floral scent that hints at a wish for everlasting love.

As part of the launch campaign of #missdiorforlove, artsy photographer Shaira Luna was tasked to create photos of love relationships. For my photo with my hubby Dennis, I wore a gown that is from the collection of fashion designer Rosenthal Tee and Karimadon, while he wore something old and something blue. Other subjects included Tim Yap with his mom Benita, and siblings Cris Albert and Ana Abad Santos with their mom Wanda Louwallien.

With several new hotels in the metro, there are many dining options to choose from. For the true romantic at heart, celebrate with a lovely dinner at Hilton Manila’s Valentine’s poolside dinner. In addition, for those who are looking for that “little extra,” Hilton Manila is offering a unique “in-pool” dining experience exclusive to ten couples who are willing to literally get their feet wet. The “in-pool” dining set-up will be at the shallowest part of the heated pool to provide a different kind of Valentine’s Day dining.

The picture-perfect romantic Valentine’s Day dinner features an indulgent, five-course Degustation Menu at P5,000++ per couple for poolside dining and P7,000++ per couple for “in-pool” dining. The main course is a sous vide Australian beef fillet, truffle and potato puree with greens, herbs and jus.  And to remember this special day, each table will be getting an adorable teddy bear.

For an even better surprise, think of a staycation to remember in one of Hilton Manila’s 357 stylish and contemporary guest rooms that come with Hilton’s signature features such as the Serenity bed, 55-inch smart LED TV, and a well-appointed bathroom. Hilton Manila is located at 1 Newport Boulevard, Newport City, Pasay City. For more information and reservations, please visit www.hiltonmanila.comor call +632 239 7788.

For the couples who love to cook or lovers who are budding chefs, a gift of a kitchen appliance would be greatly appreciated. Viking Range is an excellent, top-of-the-line supplier of kitchen appliances for Filipino homes. A visit to the cozy Viking Range Showroom in Westgate Commercial Center in Alabang will surely impress all food lovers.

The Viking Range Showroom includes a working kitchen, which has been a stage for the country’s top chefs to execute wonderful cooking presentations. The brand highlights its prized 7 Series Gas Range, induction cooktop, island hood, ovens in varying sizes, wine chillers, food warmers, to the biggest all-freezer, all-refrigerator in the market today.

Viking Range recently hosted a lunch to celebrate its continuing partnership with the Red Charity Gala. For three consecutive years, the kitchen appliance brand has given significant auction items in support of the gala’s fundraising activities. The annual charity event showcases Filipino ingenuity through artistic executions. It has been raising funds for the Philippine National Red Cross and Assumption High School Batch 1981 Foundation for ten years. Last year, a Viking Range 30” Rangetop was auctioned off for charity.

Together with Tedrick Yau, I recently organized a lunch with an intimate group of friends at the Viking Range Showroom. Chef JP Anglo prepared a locally inspired menu dominated by the rich bounty of the sea. For starters, we had the creative and healthy Tangigue Kinilaw with Avocado on Toast.

Then we enjoyed a back-to-back seafood delight, Salt & Pepper Prawns with Guinamos Aioli and Baked Tuna Belly with Hot Soybean Crab Flakes. Chef JP also served a delectable Roasted Chicken in Batwan Curry, and for dessert, Turon dipped in Chocnut Syrup. Visit the Viking Range Showroom at Unit 205, Westgate Commercial Center, Filinvest, Muntinlupa City or for info, call tel. 828-1363, click on find @VikingRangePH on Facebook and Instagram.

For me, the gift of travel is most precious and truly valued. Travelling to exotic destinations is so romantic and quite memorable. If you haven’t planned your 2019 travels, check out the 26thedition of the TravelTour Expo this weekend at the SMX Convention Center Mall of Asia.
