Grateful for the Holidays!

The holidays are most definitely here! It is the most wonderful and my favorite time of the year. Family, friends and loved ones gather together and share love, laughter as they converse and celebrate all the accomplishments they’ve had. This is exactly what we did at the “Swatch are you thankful for this Christmas?” Thanksgiving – Christmas party of the Grand Dame of Swatch, Virgie Ramos at the Swatch & Swatch building.

There is something about being in a room full of happy grateful people who are so happy to share their love with each other. Creative genius Gino Gonzales decked out the Swatch building with brilliant colors and completed the look with unique Christmas trees and brilliant chandeliers. SLIM’s Fashion and Arts school adorned the Swatch building façade with a LARO (play) theme, turning it into a fun, playful and interactive digital artwork. Of course, a Pinoy celebration won’t be complete without a delicious feast that chef Margarita Fores prepared: Uni mousse stuffed squash flower prosciutto wrap; braised bone marrow crusted US Angus short ribs, Capiz Diwal from the Visayas and refreshing gumamela iced tea flown in from Egypt.

Inspired by Hello Kitty and her love for fun, friends and family, Tita Virgie Ramos always know how to throw amazing parties and surprises! She surprised Swatch Philippines creative director Rowell Santiago, National Book store managing director, Xandra Ramos Padilla and Sanrio Co. president for the USA and Asia, Yuko Tsuji with birthday cakes and wishes.

Just a few blocks over at Greenbelt, there was also a celebration of gratitude by Charina Sarte who shared the day with some of her closest friends and clients. Celebrating both her 9thanniversary of her shop and the launch of her newest collection, Holiday in the Tropics, the affair was luxurious as it was relaxed.  For her holiday collection, Charina took inspiration from her Filipino roots and her love for travel. The collection combines bright and feminine pieces in light fabric, perfect for tropical weather.

For its launch, loyal clients and friends were treated to a 6 course Moet & Chandon Luxe Brunch, complete with champagne pairing led by Matthieu Lerat, Moet & Chandon’s Brand Ambassador. To complete the experience, each guest received a surprise loot bag with skincare treats from La Mer inside a feather pouch designed by Charina herself.

To further celebrate, Charina Sarte is holding an anniversary sale with discounts up to 70% off at its Greenbelt 5 store (until stocks last) For more information, you may contact + 63 917 835 3713 or visit the boutique located at Greenbelt 5.

Still in the swing of grateful celebrations, the Peninsula Manila was the venue for the fashion show to punctuate the 30thyear career anniversary of fashion designer Randy Ortiz. It was a testimony of his creative artistry and craftsmanship on luxe fabrics with handmade embroidery and beadworks with super feminine silhouettes, soft draping, sharp and fun tailoring for men.

Surrounded by his guests who all came in denim couture, Randy paid homage to those who have guided and supported him in his career, most especially to his mother who is his ultimate fashion inspiration. Juliana Gomez, daughter of Richard Gomez & Lucy Gomez, Kaila Estrada, daughter of John Estrada as well as children of models Tweetie de Leon-Gonzalez and Marina Benipayo walked the runway, all the children of his former muses and celeb friends.
