Could real life be happening faster than the digital world? Just this first quarter of the year, I have traveled four times to Japan, once to Thailand, and spent multiple weekends in Tali Beach.
Between all those trips, I have attended more than a few events and product launches while squeezing in Zumba classes with Robby Nee, Bikram yoga sessions with Ollay Aninion at Bikram Yoga Manila, and Kundalini yoga and Gong Bath healings with Urban Energy healer Rosan Cruz at Rebel Yoga Manila.
Breathe! It’s tiring just to write all that down.
I still feel energized though, because I love what I do and find passion in everything. Being fully present in every moment, I can’t even do social media posts while I’m in an event. All that has to be done in the wee hours.
This week was a classic whirlwind. Fresh from my latest Tokyo trip with my “twin” Vina Francisco, I attended the special jewelry exhibit of Lucy Torres-Gomez with Jul B. Dizon Jewellery. The beautiful collection of dainty floral designs with gems was almost sold out. Jewelry designer Candy Dizon toured me around the display at Spices at Manila Peninsula Hotel.
The same day was the launch of Wilcon Depot’s latest shopping promo, “Wilcon Win Your Dream Ride Promo.” The country’s leading home improvement and construction supply retailer launched their promo at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel, with a bevy of industry and media partners at the gathering.
Wilcon always aims to find ways to make the home shopping experience more enjoyable and amazing, and the new promo will surely achieve that during its April 1 to June 30 run. Up for raffle are six, brand new Toyota Fortuners, and every P5,000 worth of online or in-store purchases generates one electronic raffle entry for shoppers.

The promo has been balanced so that winners will come from all three regions, including Metro Manila, North Luzon, South Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao. Another exciting recent event was the launch of the FILA Crossover, including new S/S 2019 sneaker offerings. The crowd that filled the FILA shop at Uptown Mall was a healthy mix of the brand’s friends, celebrities, music artists and influencers.
FILA made a unique stage setup, with the stage encircled with hanging lights and set up to display the new designs, including the Crossover, Ravagement 2000, Barricade XT’ 97 Low, Ray Run and Phyton 99. It was also the release of the much anticipated FILA Heritage collection from Korea and a capsule collection from FILA Japan.
The crowd, which was made up of FILA’s influencers known for their passion for shoes, lifestyle and street-style, stopped by the FILA store and took pictures of themselves trying on and buying these new designs. The artists of MIDAS Music & Entertaintment, featuring DJ Katsy Lee, Raf Davis, Kent MNL, Sachzna Laparan, and all the other DJs with the special performance of Droppout, Young JV, Rhyne, JP Bacallan and Emmanuelle Vera also showcased their love for the FILA’s storied brand history by giving intensifying performances during the event.
The FILA Prime Party was also an opportunity for Cris Albert, CEO and owner of FILA Philippines, to announce the upcoming launch of the FILA Disruptor II Premium, and a new collaboration with Melissa Shoes. Themed launches with costumes are my favorite events. I really enjoyed the launch of the newest limited-edition blend of Johnnie Walker, the White Walker. The premium scotch collaborated with HBO’s Game of Thrones Season 8 for their latest blend.
For their local launch, they collaborated with Tim Yap, Alodia Gosiengfiao, Sam YG, Patty Tiu, Myrrh Lao To and Nico Bolzico to host an epic party with complete thematic settings and a grand reveal.
With the Game of Thrones final season about to start, I am so excited to plan our 25thwedding anniversary with the same theme as GOT, but with an African twist. Hmm, that will be an epic mash up.
If this past week was dizzying, the upcoming one will be even more. On April 6, Assumption Batch ’79 invites all to their fundraiser “Ruby Carnavale” at Wildflour Restaurant at Rockwell, G/F, Rockwell 8, Plaza Drive, Makati City. The music and dancing start at 9 PM, so do come and celebrate with them.
