Hello September! This month officially welcomes my exciting mid-50s! It’s an age of wellness, enlightenment and inner beauty and peace. It is also the time when science and technology have become essential tools for beautifully and gracefully aiding the aging process. Without going through the knife, I have discovered so many beauty treatments that have visible results that totally defy gravity.
Before my Australian trip, I was able to have an Ultherapy treatment with Dr. Issa Cellona of SkinCell. Ultherapy is a non-surgical procedure that uses micro-focused ultrasound to lift and tighten skin on the brow, under the chin, neck and chest. It stimulates the body’s own natural healing process which jumpstarts the production of fresh, new collagen. The use of safe and time-tested ultrasound technology enables physicians to see and treat the deepest support layers of the skin without cutting or disrupting the surface.
Ultherapy is proud to welcome Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach and veteran actress and media executive Charo Santos-Concio into its family of brand ambassadors. Like the original endorsers of the US FDA cleared, non-invasive skin-lifting-and-tightening treatment—Queen of all Media Kris Aquino, beauty editor Agoo Bengzon, fashion designer Rosanna Ocampo, and student Trisha Duncan— these two stunning and accomplished women have their own #BeYOUtifulStory to share, helping inspire others to be effortlessly beautiful at any season of their lives.
Since winning Miss Universe, Pia has maintained a whirlwind schedule as an in-demand actress, host, and model. Ultherapy allows her to stay on-the-go while maintaining her fresh and radiant beauty.
Charo, on the other hand, may be less of a jetsetter these days, but that doesn’t mean she hasn’t been busy. Over the past six years, she’s used Ultherapy to help her embrace her age, define for herself what it means to be beautiful, and stay confident and fresh throughout this new season of her life.
As one of the brands under leading global aesthetics company Merz Inc., Ultherapy carries the same signature quality of the rest of Merz’s products and services. Now in its 110th year, Merz continues to be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge technologies that make it easier and safer for people all over the world to embrace their own brand of beauty.
“In 2017, we hit over 1 million treatments worldwide,” said Merz CEO Phillip Burchard. Since it debuted in the Philippines two years ago, Ultherapy has been made available in 39 accredited partner clinics across the country. “We’re very proud of how Filipinos have responded to Ultherapy, and we hope to be able to widen its reach even more in the coming years,” said Merz Philippine Country Manager Jorge Libanan.

For those interested in Ultherapy and want to also do charity at the same time, join us for this year’s Red Charity Gala on October 27 at the Marriott Grand Ballroom. A complete Ultherapy package will be auctioned at the charity event and the treatment will be bundled up with an executive check-up at St. Luke’s Hospital for two.
As in the past years, Bench has been our major partner of Red Charity Gala. Bench continues to grown exponentially with new international brands in their flagship company.
One of the best things about being in this stage of life is the financial security after many years of hard work and favorable business decisions. Having successfully grown his retail business for more than 30 years, Bench tycoon Ben Chan could certain rest on his laurels. But the hard-working genius entrepreneur continues to venture into various brands and new food outlets.
Celebrating another milestone, Ben chose the “Crazy Rich Asians” movie theme for this fun birthday bash. His niece Kai Lim and Bench stylist Noel Manapat were chosen as Best in Costume for the night.
Our eldest daughter Annika just started her Junior Year in Chapman University where she is taking Film. Before leaving for the States, Anna Sobrepeña, editor of LifestyleAsia Magazine asked if Annika could be one of the covergirls of their September issue. Annika and I have been the cover in a past issue so we are delighted that she will be in the cover again.
The September edition of LifestyleAsia is bannered as the very first Red Charity Gala Issue. Lifestyleasia has been a media partner over the years, supporting the Red Charity Gala with features on the selected designer and cover stories. This year, the premier fashion benefit and arguably the biggest ball of the season is now an issue title of the leading and longest running luxury magazine in the country. On the cover are Annika Valdes and Juliana Gomez wearing Rajo Laurel who is celebrating 25 years in the industry. The cover subjects are the next generation supporters of the Red Charity Gala.
